Welcome to Short and Healthy! My name is Lauren and I am a nursing student at Lewis University. I started Short and Healthy in March of 2013 with idea that I could keep track of new recipes and workouts in one place, while being able to share my journey with friends and family.
Short and Healthy is my little area of the blog world where I pursue my passion for health and fitness. It is an attempt to encourage myself and share with others my way of staying fit and healthy. I love to try new recipes that are tasty and workouts that take me out of my comfort zone. Health and Fitness has become such a big part of my life that I am considering a job as a Registered Dietician (RD). I am also on the way to becoming a certified personal trainer (Summer of 2013 hopefully!). I’ve come around to ‘liking’ running and have planned to train for a half marathon in the near future. In the mean time, I work out 5-6 days a week, usually with a bit of cardio and strength training. I also love circuit workouts and yoga to mix things up. As for food, I am open to almost anything! I love to try new things and am constantly researching new recipes that I can modify or make healthier.
